Cavas de la Tahona is the latest gated community developed and delivered by La Tahona on Camino de los Horneros, Canelones. It covers 63 hectares and, according to the official website, has 333 lots of 900 to 1,300 m² (about 1,150 m² on average) for single-family homes. It was designed by architect Federico Armas, with landscaping by Estudio Thays, and is sold in two stages; building is already possible in the first one.

The community borders Lomas de la Tahona and its 18-hole golf course on one side and La Tahona's CECADE equestrian centre, with riding and polo fields, on the other. The main entrance is on Camino de los Horneros, opposite Viñedos de la Tahona, with a second access from Camino al Paso Escobar, giving quick links to the Interbalnearia highway, Carrasco airport and Zonamérica.

The landscape mixes vines planted between the blocks with lakes and streams; one lake has a wooden boardwalk. The stone club house has a wine cellar, grill and social areas, complemented by an outdoor pool with sun deck, a gym, tennis and padel courts, a co-working space, a kindergarten and a playground.

Services include a 24-hour gatehouse and security with access control, paved internal roads, OSE mains water, an irrigation network, waste collection and a private shuttle to and from Montevideo. Common charges quoted in 2026 listings were UYU 10,500–15,000 a month (roughly U$D 260–375).

In 2026 La Tahona advertised lots from U$D 236,000, with in-house financing (30% down and the balance in up to 180 instalments) or bank loans; resale lots of about 900–1,100 m² were listed at U$D 195,000–390,000, the dearest ones facing the lake. It suits families who want to build a new house near Carrasco within the La Tahona cluster.
