Quintas del Bosque

Quintas del Bosque is one of the first gated communities in the Carrasco area of Canelones: in 2023 the barrioprivado.com.uy portal described it as «more than 25 years old». It is small and almost fully built, with houses of 100 to 200 m² on lots of 500 to 1,200 m² (around 600 m² on average). In the 2011 census the national statistics institute (INE) counted it as a separate locality with 57 residents.

It lies on Camino Gonzalo «Gonchi» Rodríguez at km 23.5 of the Ruta Interbalnearia, in the Colonia Nicolich municipality. The access road is paved and lit. Car One is about 1.1 km away, Costa Urbana Shopping 3.6 km and Carrasco airport 3.5 km; Las Higueritas sits on the same road and La Asunción is nearby.

The grounds sit inside a stand of old eucalyptus trees, with defined, lit internal streets. There is no known club house or shared sports facilities: common services are a 24-hour gatehouse and security, access control and waste collection.

Free plots are almost gone: in 2023 the last four vacant lots were mentioned, with land from U$D 90,000 and houses from U$D 325,000. Today the market is mostly houses for sale or rent. It suits families looking for a small, leafy gated community very close to the airport and Montevideo.
